We have teamed up with the ‘free from baker’ to give you an opportunity to feast on some amazing home baked cakes!
This should hopefully be open to everyone as they are all gluten free and coeliac friendly!
They may be free from gluten but they are bursting with flavour and Christmas fun!
The two treat box selections below will come parchment wrapped and within a box – great for wrapping as early presents as they last a week from baking!!!

This is our Sudbury Homemade Christmas festive raffle, with some of Julie’s beautiful festive flower arrangements, homemade Christmas cakes, decorations and even bird tables up for grabs!

  • Gasworks Launch Party, Information and Feedback Event – March 7th 2020

When: Saturday March 7th (17:00-19:00)
Where: Sweet Little Cafe, Sudbury Courtyard, Main Rd, Sudbury. DE6 5HS
What: Information was made available on our upcoming restoration and new village facility project with the ability to voice any concerns, your ideas and thoughts of what the project can do for our local community.
How Much: Free

There were drinks and nibbles available.
We provided information about the project and the great news that after all our hard work we have finally been given the lottery grant to proceed!
Lots of great questions were asked by those who attended, which we very much appreciated.

  • Long Table Lunch – June 9th 2019

     Sunday June 9th (12:30 – 15:00)
    Where: Sudbury Sport Field, Main Road, Sudbury. DE6 5HS
    What: A two-course lunch with Pimm’s on arrival
    Pimm’s were had on arrival and then a wonderful two course lunch seated at a long table.
    The rain did not dampen our spirits as we were under cover in the marquee!


  • Annual General Meeting – May 9th 2019

  • Gardens Talk & Plant Sale – May 17th 2019

     Friday May 17th (19:00-21:00)
    Where: Doveridge Village Hall, Sand Ln, Doveridge. DE6 5JQ
    Chair of Derbyshire National Gardens Scheme Peter Gardner talked about the beginnings of District Nursing and how the National Garden Scheme now supports nursing charities such as Macmillan and Marie Curie, raising about £3.5 million a year. He gave the talk along with photos of some fabulous Derbyshire gardens.
    There were bring and buy items on sale including pots, plants, planters, seeds, tools, gardening books, gardening clothes, magazines and boots etc.
  • Fashion Show – May 1st 2019

     Wednesday May 1st (19:00-21:30)
    Where: Doveridge Village Hall, Sand Ln, Doveridge. DE6 5JQ
    Favourite brands from the high street in sizes 6 to 30 were available at up to 75% off
    A great night was had with lovely clothing. Thanks again to our local models who volunteered.
  • Primulas & Auriculas talk – April 17th 2019

     Wednesday April 17th (19:00-21:00)
    Where: Sweet Little Cafe, Sudbury Courtyard, Main Rd, Sudbury. DE6 5HS
    We had a lovely talk on these gorgeous plants and a good selection were for sale afterwards!
  • Poetry and Puddings Evening – March 15th 2019

    When: Friday March 15th (19:00-21:00)
    Where: The Old Village Store, Main Road, Sudbury. DE6 5HS
    What: Poems will be read then an interval with lots of puddings…followed by another 10 poems.
    How Much: Ticket £7.50
    Poems were read, puddings were shared and eaten…mmm


  • Endurance Karting event – April 14th 2019

     Sunday April 14th (16:00-19:30)
    Where: Fastlane Karting, 151 King Street, Fenton, Staffordshire. ST4 3ER
    What: 10 Teams of 4 drivers compete to gain the most laps in a 2½ hour endurance race
    How Much: £37.50 per driver (£150 per team)


Our Previous events from 2018:


  • Racenight, Doveridge Village Hall, Saturday 20th October 2018, 6.30pm

Held LIVE within Doveridge Village Hall, an evening of fun was had guessing which of the six horses was first past the post.
Doors opened at 6.30pm with the first race at 7pm.
Horses and jockeys were sponsored for the chance of winning a prize, yielding a great jockey prize and an even better owner prize !
Folks who attended the night got to back a horse for just a £1 donation, for the chance of winning a greater return.
